ABSTRACT
The combination of Aluminium sulphate (3500 ppm) and phosphate starch
(500 ppm) is effective as flocculant and coagulant of wastewater treatment at
CMTF 7F-83, Minas SBU. Flocculant and coagulant ability on this particular
condition were able to decrease wastewater turbidity up to 99.96% (from 9200
NTU to 4 NTU), TSS up to 88.24% (1700 mg/l to 200 mg/L), TDS up to 53.52% (from
7100 mg/l to 3300 mg/l) and pH up to 41.69%, from 11,02 into 6.42. The
particular flocculant was able to increase floc diameter for about 350-400% (d1
into d5), while the sedimentation velocity is 41.5992-93.5982 cm/s. According
to KEPMENLH/ 42/MENLH/10/1996, the final wastewater pH is acceptable for the
liquid pollution quality standard. The result of TSS and TDS analysis shows the
acceptable value for the liquid pollution standard for industry
(KEP-51/MENLH/10/1995).
